Just had to tell someone, but OH is out, so ABers have to suffer

Just been phoned by the surgery and given Jab appointments on Saturday! And second jab appointments in April.

Excitement is the wrong word, but surprised and pleased. He is 74 and I am 73.

Jno, Yes both of us, 2 minutes apart. At our local Medical centre, 4 miles down the road! One of the first group of medical centres who got the vaccine. They have also been vaccinating others from outside the area for a good few weeks now. It's a very large medical centre, more like a small hospital.
so pleased for you
Question Author
Our local area has a population of about 16,O00, including the town with approx 10,000. Only one medical practice with another small surgery in one of the largest villages.

Thanks Anne and Woofy
Really pleased for you Apc, it must do wonders for people's confidence x
Yes, I'm taking my aged relatives for the first ones on Sunday and round two in April.
very national apparently
the english are dancing for joy ( you arent the onlyy ones) and the french are shaking their pretty heads and going oo la la

VERY orderly in the clinics - the staff cdnt understand what had hit us ( you know halothan in the aircon etc)
remember you have to wait a few days
before it kicks in

(altho I think it will be proven true that anyone who gets a vaccine and then COVID doesnt die)

a fren is running a slight temp 37.5'C and is "tired" 24 h later which I regard as 'quick' but the rest of us seem to running around like Gazelles
The up side of all this is that we're booked for our jabs on Friday.

The down side is that we have to travel 59.9mls to get them.
MGW - down side? I'd love an excuse to have a 60 mile trip in the car. We only had 5 miles for my jab.
just as long as they don't take coffee, bhg

About 10 days to kick in PP, but we are not impatient to get out there, and will carry on as if we haven't had the jab until lockdown is over and probably longer, possibly until April.

Barry you have now made me feel officially 'aged' ;o). I just prefer to pretend 70 is the new 50. Even with my health problems neither of us present as old!
Question Author
Glad to hear of others having had jabs or have dates. Best wishes to all.
Great news. The vaccine programme is working really well it seems and so hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel.
