I hope that paying your paper bill was more successful than I often found it to be when I lived in Sheffield.
I'd go into the shop and offer to pay my bill, only to be told "Oh, we're far too busy at the moment. Leave it until another day".
A week or two later, I'd try again, only to be told "Oh, we haven't got all our books up to date yet. Leave it until another day".
That would go on for months and months until, finally, I'd have really shirty letter pushed through my letterbox, threatening legal action if I didn't pay my bill immediately, as I'd (allegedly) ignored all of their previous demands!
To make it worse, those letters were never put into envelopes but simply left open for the newspaper boy to read before he delivered them with my newspapers. So the newspaper boy could see that I was (apparently) the type of person who never ever paid his debts on time - and the newspaper boy just happened to be one of my pupils!
