Mrs A Gets Along

News for those ABers kind enough to have expressed concern and interest in Mrs A’s illness.

After 12 days in the cardio unit she has gone down from 91.6 kg to 77.7, nearly all of it the oedema fluid. They want another 12 kilos from her!

Thus, the various diuretics have done their work, her kidneys are still functioning, her peripheral problems (foot ulcers and the like) are gradually being addressed, and they can move on to her heart.

Nothing but praise for Dr Nigel Stephens and his cardiology team. All heroes (and of course at a hospital in a London borough where Covid is rife).

I hope we get a few more years to add to our 51 together!

With thanks for all your kindness.

Thanks for your post, Allen. It's nice to read some good news for a change here!

I recently lost 7kg in a fortnight through being put on diuretic tablets for my oedema and I felt massively better because of it. I'm sure that Mrs A will too!
Well done Mrs A and the medical team and very best wishes . I hope she is back home with you soon Allen x

An update as Mrs A has been in two weeks now.

She’s lost an amazing 3 stone, nearly all of it fluid!

Docs are pleased, and are now trying to get to grips with her heart.

No imminent release, but certainly a darned sight better than two weeks ago!

Lovely to hear some very good news, and a relief for you both - hope everything continues in the right direction :))
That's excellent news Allen. I do hope she will get well enough to come home soon. She must be feeling much better.
She must be feeling a lot more comfortable. Good to hear

Sqad. Thanks for the thought!

I am a New Man (luckily) so most household chores have been mine (well, shared) for decades.

I must admit I DID send the mountains of dirty clothes out to a laundry - marvellous, all came back dry and folded.

I’m hoping the health authority will provide some help when Mrs A gets home - my various physical disabilities can make life a bit difficult.

Best wishes to all for your kindness.
