Just wondering. I need a haircut before everything locks down again. I usually need my roots by now, too. I’ve been on HRT for 2 1/2 months and I’ve got no grey roots. Is that down to the HRT?
Is this normal? Not that I’m complaining. It’s quite nice :)

Also periods: I hadn’t had one for the first 8 months of this year. Now I’m bleeding almost every day. Is this normal too?

I had one last period at 50 and then never had another. I know everyone is different, but bleeding 'every day' doesn't seem right - how long has this been going on for ? I never went on HRT.
No idea about the grey but my hair condition deffo improved a lot on hrt.

As for the return of periods... I’d say have a chat with gp as hrt may need adjusting,

I’ve been on hrt about 2 yrs and it took a lot of experimentation and regular tweaking to get it right,

Incidentally I’m due to see a menopause specialist gynae (yes they do exist) again on Tuesday as my hrt clearly needs tweaking yet again (my symptoms really did need an expert ...I struggled BIG time !!!! Mentally and physically).
Cloverjo.....both of the problems that you describe sound normal to me given your information.
Only a man could describe not having grey roots as a problem
it's on a problem page, rowan! And Sqad's actually responded that it's not a problem. As for the amenorrhoea ... well, if it's been over the last eight months it must have somethng to do with Boris...

A question is not necessarily a problem. After all Its Answerbank not Solution bank
almost all the questions in this section are problems, though, which is why Sqad has to spend so much time here.
Oh abd to add to my prev reply. Unfortunately with hrt bleeding can occur every day, It’s obviously something that MUST be chatted to dr about to rule out anything nasty ! But it was pretty common for me on various trials of hrt ... in fact that’s why I’m back to gynae specialist on tues (ps I’m 47 but went into confirmed menopause at 43 and had been in peri menopause since about 35

Thank you for all the replies. I’m due to speak to a GP in a couple of weeks about whether to carry on with the HRT. Just wondered about other women’s experiences.

I do like having no grey hair and no night sweats. I might have to put up with the perpetual periods.

Who’d be a woman, eh? :)
the line with starting to bleed again after a long gap is to check with the GP not urgently urgently but very soon. It may be your hrt but it may not.
