do i simply have a cold, if so why do i feel so awful
That sounds like flu. Your symptoms definitely DON'T match those of Covid-19:

also haven't had the flu for years. I used to be so very susceptible, but last ten years at least nothing at all.

how you doing chris...
Do you have a persistent cough as well as all of this? If not then it tends more towards a flu than Covid.
Phone 111 in the morning, try to get some sleep now
Beat me there, Chris. Does sound like the flu, emmie. Get well soon.

no cough, just watery chest, when i do cough it's wheezy if that makes any sense.

i would say so Anne...
Hi emmie. that sounds like a bit of flu. ring 111 in the morning although you can ring them at any time. they are on duty 24/7. good luck and I hope you soon feel much better.
sounds like a bit of both, anne. But I would have thought if it was Covid you'd know by now, especially after a week of symptoms.
Question Author
it's the runny nose that's irritating, constant and i can't find a way to stop it. i am falling asleep early, just can't help it, the being awake in the middle of the night
Question Author
back up again, will this ever go away,
You said earlier that you have no cough. Is that still the case? If so, then it's highly unlikely (though not completely impossible) that you have COVID. Do you have any whisky in the house? If so, make yourself a hot toddy and knock yourself out.
Question Author
hi jim, no whisky, i couldn't bear the thought of alcohol at this time of the morning
Question Author
no prolonged cough, if i do occasionally then it's wet and wheezy.
OK. Not sure what else to suggest to send you to sleep. Perhaps you could try listening to Marillion - that always does it for me... :-)
