While speaking to a nurse at our surgery yesterday I asked if it was ok for my husband to attend for an injectipn without a mask.. he has several respiratory health issues. Bronciectisis,COPD,heart failure
etc.
I was asked had he got a letter as proof..as if his medical records weren't enough!!

No he hasnt as he hadnt been anywhere to need a mask.

She advises to look on the .Gov web site. GPs dont do them

I can't find anything where I can print such a letter..

Anyone know about this issue please.

did he have an extremely vulnerable letter? If so i'd use that
You shouldn't need a letter, but if they insist you can print off your own cards etc with this link; - also more info on exemption: (sorry it looks confusing as the text in the link doesn't mention it but it is there!)

Never heard of such a ietter,as the GP notes should be good enough to attend the surgery for an injection of whatever kind.
I feel that you should ask for a home visit,
I think someone posted a link here somewhere. Have a look/search.
the .gov website clearly says that no one has to carry proof and no one has the right to demand proof.
"Exemption cards
Those who have an age, health or disability reason for not wearing a face covering should not be routinely asked to give any written evidence of this, this includes exemption cards. No person needs to seek advice or request a letter from a medical professional about their reason for not wearing a face covering."

Some people may feel more comfortable showing something that says they do not have to wear a face covering. This could be in the form of an exemption card, badge or even a home-made sign.

This is a personal choice and is not necessary in law."

PS if you get any more trouble from this nurse or from your surgery, then I would be complaining....the staff there should know what the requirements are and are not.
Our surgery has a newsletter and the doctors explained the situation abut not wearing masks in it and about how people should not be challenged. It was a good idea and saved them being pestered.
So it seems that no-one needs to wear a mask! Anyone can claim an exemption if they do not need to prove it.
Indeed Zebo, but why would they? Most people are happy to comply.
Not if they don't want western citizen's freedoms to slide into totalitarian government, they aren't.
Most, not all.
I very rarely wear mine and I've never once been challenged. I see plenty of others not wearing them as well.
My wife is also a brochiectasis sufferer & has heart problems. She feels comfortable with a face shield.
