I'm due to do jury service shortly, but I have a problem with dozing off when I am sitting in a warm room listening to people speak such as lectures or seminars, and I am worried that I might have trouble keeping awake if we have to sit for ages listening to boring stuff. Is there anything (legal) that you can get to keep you alert - I do find chewing gum helps when driving.

I did wonder, but would I be able to take it into court with me? And what does it taste like? Suppose there is only one answer to that! I will have to try it. Does it work that quickly? And how long do the effect last - for example if I drunk one before going in would it see me through a couple of hours or more? I find myself blinking and shaking my head and rolling my tongue round my mouth to try to keep awake!

Tell them you can't do it as you have trouble concentrating which may compromise the case. Letter off GP, job done.
Lankeela, you cannot take drinks into court with you. Thats why I suggested caffeine pills. I believe that jurors are supplied with drinking water while in court.

You would think there would be something like a modern day equivalent of smelling salts that you could take a wiff of (maybe there is?).
Hi Tambo, How's Frazer?
(Sorry to digress.)

LOL Togo...
Tried poppers in my younger years just to see what they did. Horrible things, never again!
^^^scuse me, that was for theland
Smelling salts are mainly Ammonium Carbonate, again I doubt they'd let you take those into a Courtroom.
Have a damp hanky (or similar) handy, and keep dabbing your eyelids with that.
If you start waving a hanky amongst the dury.. they will stop the case and have you removed... Problem solved!

Looks like Pro Plus is the best bet - although I switched to caffeine free tea a few months ago as I couldn't sleep at night!
