I've no cough. Could the orhers be symptoms of the virus? I'll go to the local hospital tomorrow and ask to be tested.

Could be anything Sandy, rest today and get tested when you can.
Could be anything at all. Give it a week before you do anything.
sandy I don't think you are supposed to just rock up at hospitals for a test
Ring 111 now and follow their instructions. They may be able to send you out a test for Covid and it will set your mind at rest. I had Covid 19 and a positive test but had very little actual coughing -shortness of breath but no coughing. I had sore eyes, a headache -and I normally don't have headaches - and a temperature -I think temperature is one of the most important symptoms. Ring 111 now.
Good idea about a home test, I'm sure Spain must have a system set up.
Sandy have you been out in the sun for too long. I understand the heat in Spain is unbearable at the moment.
sorry to hear this, Sandy, take care....
yes it could be
as in certainly not excluded
and in your spare time compile a contact-diary
Stay where you are and take Ibuprofen and drink plenty, Covid could be the culprit ,but there are other viruses in the frame.
Just watch your breathing and if this becomes a significant factor then call the Help Line.
Make sure that you selfisolate for a week, just in case
o god and sometime ( perhaps not today) buy a thermometer
feeling hot and being hot are two difft things
I had the virus in march, I felt very weak, sore eyes and a headache, the cough developed after the first week, I am just starting to get rid of the cough now. I would get tested if I were you
PP the Uk guidance is that a thermometer is not needed. If you feel hot TO SOMEONE ELSE when they touch you then that is sufficient to get a test
Then the UK guidance is wrong (what a surprise). The only way to accurately diagnose a fever (as opposed to being a bit hot) is a thermometer. You should take your temperature when you are feeling well to ascertain your normal 'working' temperature -mine is 35C -quite low, normal is of course around 36.5C.
I have always gone by Woofy has said. In fact, a doctor told my Mum not to have a thermometer in the house because it can become an obsession to keep taking your temperature and it can vary during the day. If someone's head or tummy is hot to the touch then that is the best indication. I bought one just a few months ago when I was asked by 111 what my temperature was and I didn't know, but knew I had one. I have since found out that my temperature is 34.5/35 when I wake up and 36.1 is my normal temperature which is the normal temperature of most people.
apc How can you tell from touching someones 'tummy' if they have a slightly elevated temperature of say 37.5c which normally requires a couple of paracetamol and monitoring the situation, or a raging fever of 41c. which could be a medical emergency.

Jeezus they only cost a few quid...........
Sandy, If you're in Spain, take a look at https://www.mscbs.gob.es/profesionales/saludPublica/ccayes/alertasActual/nCov-China/telefonos.htm
This gives the contact numbers for each region who can advise you about the best way to proceed. (I'm sure that they'll find someone English-speaking if you don't speak much Spanish.)
Nothing to do with the cost APG.

When I had really bad food poisoning in Austria a doctor came to see me. Felt my tummy and said, yes you have a high temperature. It happened again in England (after a Portugal trip) and again a German Doctor felt my head and tummy and pronounced I had a high temperature. So don't be so scathing and rude APG. No need.

APG I was saying that the guidance says its sufficient to GET A TEST....not that its an infallible diagnostic process.
Scathing and rude -get over yourself apc. I was merely pointing out that the only accurate way to know if you have a dangerously elevated temperature is to use a thermometer.
I would prefer to go to A&E and tell them I had a temperature of 38.5c rather than 'my tummy feels a bit hot'.
