it really depends on the shape of the nails. Nails which have thickened or have a high curve on them need clippers with a wider opening than flatter thinner nails. Also I find you get what you pay for
blimey! who is going to be using those and does your neighbour really need them? For safety had he/she considered a battery operated file?
You do have to be aware of the stomach ie if you can get past it to bend down and reach the toes.

Is your neighbour nice and slim.
Have a look at swivel headed toenail clippers on Amazon, Pasta. I have a set of those and they are much easier to use than the plier type ones.

She's got a bit of a belly, and sometimes finds doing her somewhat thick nails awkward.
I've got a pair like my 2nd link, which I was going to order for her. But the first ones came up in my search and I wondered about their suitability.
I'll investigate the rotary ones, and show them to her.
don't know if you could do it Pasta then it would be easier for your neighbour to get them done - bar that why doesn't he/she pop along to a chiropodist who would be the best.

Jj...she's 81 and never goes anywhere. Prefers to do it herself. I had enough trouble a few years ago getting her to get medication for her arthritis. She also won't use the internet, so I'm doing the searching for her.
well she could perhaps get a chiropodist to come to her - with her arthritis could she operate either nail clippers without her cutting herself. can be difficult to do some toes. good luck eitherway Pasta
the thing with that kind of thing is that if you don't have FULL control. they will take then end off your finger or toe. I have got one of these that I can use on my toes when my dodgy knee plays up and I can't use clippers. Much safer and really easy to use. No bits of flying toenail to collect and no rough chippy bits left. Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation
If you are going to buy clippers you will find them at half that price on E-Bay.
