There's a fella aged about 46 - he does have autism and no relatives. I just wonder about him.

He is working in a very physical job perhaps 12 hours a day 4 days a week and the other maybe does 9. hours a day.

He is very tall but has an enormous protruding stomach. He has been doing the above job for 2 years now and I myself think his stomach should be far far flatter.

I personally think he has a hernia and because he is in no pain doesn't realise how big his stomach his. Would any of you know what is causing his stomach being so large.

Because of the autism he doesn't eat big. A couple of sausages here and there. Definitely no big meals.

It really would be guesswork without his full history JJ.

Is he worried, or just you on his behalf?
Maybe he was even bigger before he started on that job, and has lost weight?
Mention it to his employer who has a duty of care to him and can insist he gets checked out.
It might just be a Beer belly.

nope - he doesn't drink so no beer belly and he is not in gainful employment ie washes pallets/trays for Tescos, so couldn't be called upon with his employers.

I'm not worried as he is just a friend of somebody I know but I don't see him for maybe months at a time and still no matter how hard he works - he never loses this belly.
Everyone has relatives but presumably in his case none of them care for him and he is not the type to maintain any contact. Does your friend know enough to point to any ? Maybe he is actually in contact at some level with one or more relatives ?

Deposition of fat around the belly can also be highly affected by your androgens. Hence the reason why men and women have different fat storing patterns. Men will store more fat in the belly region whereas women will store more fat around thighs and hips. I do not know if his autism has affected his androgens but its a possibility.

At the same time, I have seen plenty of mentally fit men who are otherwise skinny also hold a lot of fat in the belly area and science isnt sure 100% as to why this happens

I would say a proper and complete medical checkup is necessary to diagnose if any underlying health conditions exist in this man
I don’t understand what you mean by gainful employment. He is working full time for Tesco so he is in gainful employment.
He will be fully aware how big his belly is.
Is this the same man you was asking about for a diagnosis of autism in adulthood?
How do you know what he eats?
