I went to use some bPerfect 10-second self tanning mousse but it came out of the container a greeny/blue colour. I have read online that this can sometimes happen if the container has been opened and left unused for a period of time. I don't remember using it before but I bought it maybe a year ago so I may have at some stage. My questions are - 1) is it still safe to use? and 2) will it still work ie provide a fake tan in the same way that it should?
Thanks.

Thanks Barry. So should it be that colour? I thought it was maybe like that so that you can see the areas that have been covered?!
Sounds like it's oxidised, I personally wouldn't use it.

Does it have a date on it?
We have some some cream that looks pale blue/green but it's fine so long as it's rubbed in. I'd try it in an area that's not too visible.

Mamyalynne - I can't see a date on it.

fiction factor - i put it on my legs but it deffo left them with a blue tinge. I have washed it off again now.
I emailed the company at the end of last week but haven't heard back from them yet.
It may be made for the Martian market.
I would ditch it. It's not worth taking a chance with.
Why don't you do a test on a little area that's not normally exposed? You can make your mind up after 24 hours.
Shivvy said she put it on her legs...and they turned blue.
but it's odd because you can't just "wash off" fake tan. it sounds like she probably washed it off when it was on the surface and had the tinge, not that it made the legs turn blue
I worded my response incorrectly...realised after I posted. Oh to be able to edit!

When it came out of the container it was a strong blue/green colour. When I rubbed it into my legs it was a very pale blue/green but def not a tan colour. The packaging said that it provides instant colour and that the colour also develops over the next number of hours.
I kept it on for approx 1 - 1.5 hours and the colour was still bluish so that's when I washed it off. I wasn't confident that it would change from blue to tan!
I suppose my main concern is that it might be unsafe to use in some way? If I thought that it was ok to use I would be a bit more confident about trying it again and leaving it on for longer.
are your legs still bliue?
Question Author
Not really bednobs although there are a few places where I can still see it ie i must have had an unnoticible scrab on my shin which now looks like a piece of blue thread is stuck to it!
Can you contact the supplier or manufacturer?
Question Author
Yes pastafreak - I emailed the company at the end of last week but haven't heard back from them yet.
