I ask because i'm flying from Spain to Scotland shortly, well on 26th actually.
So is it as drastic as staying in your hotel/ airbnb for 14days and not setting foot outside the door for that duration? Eg not allowed out to the shops?

//Residents and visitors arriving from abroad must self-isolate for 14 days//
I suppose that means that you make your own arrangements.
piggy that's what government advice is at the moment.
//Arrangements will be made for those arriving into Scotland to be contacted during self-isolation to receive public health advice and information
Those who fail to self-isolate can be fined £480 (up to £1,000 in England)//
Do you have any travel insurance, not sure you will be covered though.
"You can only leave your accommodation in limited circumstances. These include where:

you need to travel to leave Scotland, provided that you do so directly

you need to seek medical assistance you need access to basic necessities like food and medicines (including for any pets or animals in the household), but please try to first arrange for these to be delivered to you instead to reduce the number of times you need to leave your accommodation

you need to access critical public services such as social services and victim support services, but only in exceptional circumstances

on compassionate grounds where you need to go to the funeral of someone in your household or a close relative, or where no-one else is attending a friend. Further advice on funerals.

you need to fulfil a legal obligation such as participate in legal proceedings

you need to access public services (including social services or victim services) where access to those services is critical to your wellbeing and cannot be provided at your accommodation

there’s an emergency which puts you at risk in your accommodation"

Unless you fall within an exemption within this guidance you will:

need to provide your journey and contact details when you travel to Scotland
not be allowed to leave the place you are staying for the first 14 days you are in Scotland except in very limited situations (known as ‘self-isolating’)
The regulations apply to people who live in Scotland and who are returning from outside Scotland, as well as to people visiting Scotland. These measures apply to international travellers into Scotland irrespective of their point of entry into the UK.

There are a number of exempt countries, sectoral exemptions and other categories of person who are exempt from the requirement to self-isolate. Arrivals from outside the Common Travel Area (who have been in the Common Travel Area for longer than 14 days) do not need to complete the form or self-isolate. More information is provided in the exemptions section of this guidance.

Duties are also placed on transport operators to provide passengers with information throughout the passenger journey in terms of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Public Health Information for Passengers Travelling to Scotland) Regulations 2020 which were introduced to the Scottish Parliament on 8 June 2020.

The Department for Transport has guidance on the requirements placed on operators.

The regulations are reviewed every 21 days. Following our first review, some changes have been made to the regulations which came into force on 10 July and are reflected here.

Before you visit or return to Scotland read the latest public health advice which includes a range of advice on COVID-19, including how to protect yourself and others, as well as guidance on health and wellbeing.
