Does anyone have one of those fancy-malancy dyson hairdryers? I fancy trying one but need to ask a question about it first.

I’ve got one, what do you need to know?
Question Author
thanks meglet. What is the circumference of the handle please? is it significantly fatter than an ordinary hairdryer?
No it’s much the same. it comfortably fits in my (normal sized) hand. I’ll measure it for you and let you know.

Worth mentioning that it’s weighted very differently than a normal hairdryer (which is very top heavy) so it’s easy to hold for long periods.

My wife has ditched all her expensive hair dryers, tongs, straighteners and lord knows what else since she bought a rotating hot brush. She says it is the best thing since sliced bread.

thanks meglet. I have a disability in my hands so girth will be important!
Isn’t it always? ;-)
only price i can see is £ 299.99 crikey,
Question Author
that's because that's the price emmie
Nearly £300 for a hairdryer is ridiculous. I buy the small travel ones from Boots -easy to use and very light if you have mobility issues -they cost around £15. I use mine nearly every day.
^why is it ridiculous? If you want something and have the money to pay for it, go for it....that's what we do.
Just about everything you can buy has budget versions, average-priced versions and a luxury, high-end ones. I resent others telling me what I should and shouldn't spend my money on.

it's very unusual for me (like most people I suppose) to have "spare" money. However, I am still being paid full time as is my husband and we are spending much less money on food, takewaways, petrol and work expenses so I find myself in a position to have a choice for a change rather than buy crappy products. Still dunno whether I will or not - I think I need to wait till I can actually hold one so I can see if it's too thick or uncomfy
I looked at their air-filter heaters, nearly passed out when I saw almost £600!
Ginjbeer: Firstly I am quite away of the different prices and qualities of consumer goods but thanks for reminding me.
No hairdryer, in my opinion, is worth an average of 10 times the price of a normal one. What does it do differently for £300? Give you a trim, highlights ? No it dries your hair.
And to answer the second part of your rant -I'm not telling anyone, that includes you, what they can or can't spend their money on. I'm giving my opinion on the ridiculous price of the Dyson hairdryer, so you can feel less resentful if that's at all possible. As the old saying goes: a fool and his/her money are soon parted.
My friend has had one since they first came out and she has loved it from day one. She says it was worth every penny.
when you make your decision bednobs - here is a price comparison. https://pricespy.co.uk/beauty-health/personal-care/hair-dryers/dyson-supersonic--p3730950
Bednobs there is a huge difference between 'treating' yourself to a really good quality hairdryer and having your eyes taken out by Dyson. It is a good idea to go test drive one. They look very bulky to me.
I know someone who has one but I have never held one, they get very good reviews - hope it is suitable for you Bednobs and you can treat yourself.
APG...If anyone is "ranting", it's you....as usual.
