I had a terrible night last night and woke up this morning with a stonking headache, felt like I'd been run over by a bus. I took my temperature it was 38.3C. I took 2 paracetamols and within an hour my temperature was down to 36.7C but the headache remains. I have a slight dry cough but that could be the start of Hayfever and its not stopping me breathing. I know some people on here have had close relatives who have suffered with Covid-19 and wondered if these symptoms sound familiar. I am not ringing 111 as I know they will make me go to hospital and I probably will not survive.

I'm sure the symptoms sound familiar, has you say.

Self isolate for now. Maybe the virus, maybe a different one. Hard to tell. Can only wait and monitor.
And just to add, you won't be going to hospital with those symptoms, just told to isolate yourself.
If you aren't prepared to ring 111 yet then the only advice to give is to monitor the cough.
I'm sure ChillDoubt knows more than I do about thee things but I thought the advice was to self isolate for 7 days in these circumstances as per this https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51506729
Are you in the 'shielded' category? May be different if so

thank you for the advice but don't feel ill enough yet to call 111 but if I do they will admit me as I'm immunosuppressed. I know a couple of people on here have had close relatives get the virus and recover so was hoping they could tell me if these symptoms were familiar and how long they lasted. Obviously if I deteriorate I will call 111
12.13 We are told not to attend A&E IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE THE VIRUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Corret teacake, 111 will direct you to a Covid-19 'Pod' where you will be assessed and kept away from other non covid patients. I'd rather sit it out at home until it either sorts itself out or I get worse.
Good luck APG.
If your breathing along with chest pain starts I wouldn't bother with 111 but 999, Boris had symptoms for some days before he had breathing problems. Hope it go's before such happens !!
Hope you don't have it, just rest at home.

They obviously do it differently at the hospital where I work, but hey.....
12.28 Has far has I know that is the directive all over the UK, IF you have folk just wondering into A&E, that would add to the disaster.

This crisis has shown that A&E has in the past been massively abused.
There’s hardly anyone in them, we’ve not even had patients attending for abscesses etc as we normally would.

With APG’s underlying health condition, given that she won’t phone 111 as she knows she’ll be admitted, what else do you suggest, teacake?

My colleague who is currently vented on ITU was triaged via A&E upon his arrival here. Every single one of our Covid patients have also been admitted via that procedure.
The OP puts us and themselves in a bind.....phone and speak to Doctors or wait at home with a compromising pre-existing condition and take your chances.
My mate did exactly that....looks like he’s left it to late but we’re all hoping differently.

I’ll not post anything further from now re: advice, fed up of reiterating it.
APG how are you feeling now? I've heard from a lot of people who wake up feeling head-achy and tired, some with stiff necks, some with a cough, some feeling warm, but then they realise they often feel this way first thing in the morning but because we are now aware of the symptoms of Covid-19 we panic a bit.Wait a while to see if you feel better and if you start to feel worse, get advice. Hope you will be ok.
