Should I stop playing at my Bridge Club, play twice a week and we normally have about 12 tables consisting of 4 people per table. Very close proximity, all handle the same cards and bidding boxes. Numbers have been going down where the very old have stopped. I am not as old but still in the at risk group, have no family who can help and my dogs to consider. What do people think? Thanks.

It really is your decision - the fact that you've asked means you feel somewhat uneasy.

This is why we could do with knowing what the infection rate is in certain area were you may live, then you can make a calculated risk.
We have not been advised to start social isolation yet but there might be a way round the cards issue, playing online using personal phones and tablets

The infection rate in my area is not high, believe about 10 cases. Yes, I am uneasy about it and was thinking of stopping the week after next anyway. I would imagine they will close soon if it gets much worse. Just heard on the news that there are about 450 new cases from yesterday and deaths have doubled.
This is now getting really silly. You would think we were in the middle of the bubonic plague. Just bid 3NT and all will be OK.
Do you have any hand sanitizer at the bridge club? I would carry on for a bit if you're healthy and well, but wash your hands before you sit down, half way through the session and again before you go home. If there is hand sanitizer available use it in between boards and dont kiss anyone goodbye!
Worrying about what would happen to your dogs if the worst happened ... makes me think you won't go and I think you would be right.

You are right ladybirder, I am going to stop this week, dogs come first. I am also meant to be looking after my friend’s daughter’s puppy in a couple of weeks and goodness knows what would happen if they were all away and I fell ill. My other close friend died a couple of years ago from mouth cancer so I would be really stuck with nobody here. Funny enough, there was a Doctor on the news this evening and he was saying it was really up to the individual to decide depending on their circumstances.
