fruitsalad put finger clip on a finger closest to your little finger, really doesn't matter which ankle you put it on, but if in any doubt call whoever gave you equipment and ask them.
From when I did mine, I seem to remember it's the index finger but it doesn't matter which hand. I never had any of the other stuff.
When I had a sleep study machine it had bits that went just inside the nose too.

Thanks guys, I do have the little bits that go in the nose as well, not looking forward to sleeping in the contraption to be honest
fruitsalad - Chances are you are being tested for sleep apnoea, a condition where you stop breathing for a couple of seconds in the night - it means your heart kicks up a gear to re-start your breathing, and over a long period of time, it can cause strain on your heart.

If you have the condition, you may have to wear a C-PAP device, which pumps air into your nose and mouth as you sleep, to keep your airways open.

Be warned, diagnosed sleep apnoea is a condition which can affect your driving, and failure to accept and use treatment may result in your licence being revoked, so tread carefully.

Yes andy that is exactly what I am being tested for, but it's just the start of a few tests to rule out tiredness during the day.
fruitsalad - I have always felt tired in the day, and never ever felt rested after sleeping.

I have recently been diagnosed with sleep apnoea that is off the scale!

Average apnoea sees the sufferer stop breathing an average of twenty times in an hour, which is an average of once every three minutes, severe is thirty times - every two minutes, mine is seventy-five!

I am using a C-PAP machine, but honestly, I don't feel any better, although they said I would, so we will see what the results show when I go back in mid-January.

The machine records all activity, and it actually adjusts the airflow to counter the apnoea it measures through the night.

Wearing it an average of six hours a night for six nights out of seven will mean I am safe from DVLA action - we shall see.

erm - excuse me ! - sleep apnoea in lover-boy is a future fact isnt it?
that is - the diagnosis does NOT depend on treading carefully.

NOTE - my cousin has just had a stroke and is partly blind ( no driving) and I most certainly did NOT say - tread carefully when the doctors ask if you can see or not - wrong answer and you wont drive!

I hope I have misunderstood all this

oh - doesn't matter which finger
Peter - // I hope I have misunderstood all this //

Sure looks like it from here!
