Just wondering if anyone can help!!

I'm currently working in a bank with 6 other women two of who are early 20's and three are middle aged 30's - 40's! The thing is my manger who is 40ish, treats me and another girl (we're both early 20's) Differently - she basically picks on us!! I told her about this because it really p*d me off!! (I only told her i feel she treats me diff - the other girl should be able to speak for herself!) She basically told me i was being stupid - but them she said maybe i give her a reason to treat me differently???

Basiclly today i needed to go the docs which i arranged for 4pm - when i got there they where running late...as most docs are!! At 4.30 i decided to call work to let them know i was still waiting!! At 4:40 I went in to see the doc - and was out at five to five!! So I decided to call work to tell my manager I was out and she proceeded to have a go at me asking what kept me, and saying i should have left earlier to get there?? She told me there was no point coming back to work as it was only 20 mins before we closed??

Is it me or is that just uncalled for?? If its anyone else that needs to go to the doc's or stay at home or go early its fine...but when its me its different??

What are my rights - she's actually only one level above me but I think her people management skills are really bad??

I'd just like to know where i stand if I stood up for myself and gave as good back??

Thanks

Oh Angel face - I hope you are still up to receive this before you face the dreaded cow tomorrow!!! Just wanted to say don't worry. Legally there is not much you can do about it - it may however be an idea to jot all occurrences like this down so that they can be used later if need be. With this kind of person it is sometimes not a good idea to challenge them on their own - it is better to call for a meeting with HR present. The best way to get through these things however is to think to yourself you are way better than her Angelface. She is jealous of you. You, unlike her, do not have to prove yourself by wielding power about. And she undoubtedly is an ugly cow who is not getting enough sex !!!!! Hope that this makes you laugh and get through your day tomorrow. Vics x
Most often female bosses are bitches for the sake of it. Everybody has the right to take time off work to go to the doctor. I wouldn't of bothered going back to work it was pointless. She sounds like a bully. Don't bother buttering up to her to say you are on your way back from the doctors. Just say you have a doctors appointment and leaving work early. Next time just go straight home.

Where I work we all have to use our Annual Leave if we want to go to the doctors or dentist during work time.

My boss (who is male BTW; I definitely don't think all female bosses are bitches either!) treats the older members of staff differently to the younger. Eg. if us younger ones are late we have to make the time up & get told off, but the older members of staff don't. I think it's partly because he hasn't got the balls to have a go at people who are the same age or older than him.

Just suck it up.

Being mean to young people is one of the perks of getting older. Your turn will come.
