….after two women claim she operated ‘whites-only’ recruitment policy.

But it transpires that no one, be they white, black, or green with purple spots, was hired.

She rejected all five ethnic minority and all five white applicants.

When some from ethnic minorities are so eager to play the race card at the first opportunity, is it any wonder that employers are wary of employing them? I think not.

Played too often and too quick now
naomi - This suggests that you feel that the 'Catch-22' situation you describe is weighted in favour of employers, which is clearly wrong.

I would freely admit that some ethnic minorities play on their ethnicity, which is monumentally unhelpful to furthering tolerance and understanding, but that in its turn does not offer a swerve to any employer who is actually discriminating on the basis of ethnicity.

That becomes, as I say, a 'Catch 22' where employers feel they are justified to avoid employing ethnic minorities because the ethnic minorities use the race card, accusing employers of avoiding employing ethnic minorities …. and round it goes.

The behaviour of both sides in that scenario is unacceptable, and most importantly, both are equally indefensible.

AH. Re your first paragraph. I made no such suggestion. Your imagination is working overtime again.
It’s cause I’m black innit. Is heard all too frequently. In a galaxy far away, the colour of ones skin will be totally and utterly irrelevant. Well, I can dream.
Just another sign of the times. Racism is just one aspect of the victim hood mentality that pervades society.
LBGTQI discrimination, preferred pronouns, equality of outcomes rather than equality of opportunity, and now make way for climate victims. The list gets longer.
Isn't there a clause in The Race Relations Act which says that companies have to employ a certain percentage of local ethnic minorities? One manager at a company where I worked, wanted to know why he couldn't employ who he wanted, not who he was told?
The tail wags the dog - again.
Naomi - // AH. Re your first paragraph. I made no such suggestion. //

You may not have made it intentionally, but that does not automatically mean that the suggestion is not there.

// Your imagination is working overtime again. //

It frequently does, but on this occasion it has not been called upon, I merely responded to what you posted.
you seem to have skipped half the story.
jno - // you seem to have skipped half the story. //

To whom is that addressed please?

AH, not a ghost of a suggestion from
me of a catch 22 situation. The thought is in your mind alone.

Denying something twice does not automatically delete the validity of the point raised.
Lol. ;-)
Question Author
AH, that isn’t a point I raised. It’s one you’re imagining I raised. Best you read what I said again.
I think you'll find, Naomi, that Andy knows better what you were thinking than you think you thought yourself. ;-)
Spicerack - // I think you'll find, Naomi, that Andy knows better what you were thinking than you think you thought yourself. ;-) //

Many adjectives come to mind when I think of you, I never thought I'd see the day when 'perceptive' was added to the list!
Question Author
Spicerack, he seems to believe so. Another thread derailed.
It's had three days to run, and it's only attracted seventeen answers, and five of those are mine, and four more responded to my posts!

So it's hard to 'de-rail' a thread that has already died a natural death, I'm sure you will agree.
Perhaps the rest of us realise that soon as you home in on anything Naomi posts we know you could start a row in a empty room. Spicerack is not the only ABer with perception.
You were the second post, Andy. The thread didn't really stand a chance.
