Not memories or cash in the bank, things you can hold and go back to that bring you the most pleasure, comfort or sometimes even pain?

Mine would be the gardening books and a diary from 1987 owned by my late father. He has written notes in the gardening book and when I read them I can still hear his voice.

Spath if that's the only thing that gives you joy in life can I make a suggestion you get out more. However, leaving your most treasured possession at home may avoid being arrested.
My headphones for the radio. Best ever for me (being deaf) - am now hearing a variety of musical instruments I have never heard before - like harmonica and many others.

Buenchico was the one who advocated them to me. Best advice ever.
Banker_Frank, I think the best thing I can say is probably 'My Skateboard'. I enjoy skating and the culture in my small village. There are quite a few of us. This is not something i could be a part of without my board. It certainly brings me more pain than pleasure, but it's a constant comfort.
Family photographs
I am with Canary, my family photo album.
Family photos for me too, thank goodness we still have them. One other thing is a little battered and worn memo book from early forties my mother completed with family recipes in. One of them which I still made up into the 1980's was called Boston cream a very refreshing summer drink. We had it as kids and I made it for my family too.
My mp3 player.. it was a gift from my youngest Bro. I'd be lost without it.
Family photos, grandma's teapot and uncle Benny's dish. Monetary value approx zero, sentimental value = infinity.

I also have a mother of pearl musical powder compact given to me by my grandmother. Apparently one of the first things bought for her by her husband in the 1920's. Probably lots of value but will never leave the family hopefully. I got it because she did not trust my sister not to flog it (smiley face)
