Just back from the GP. Finished the meds for the shingles, but still in a lot of pain. GP said it is healing and drying but pain can last up to six weeks.
Thought I had another chest infection but GP assured me all the pain is coming from the shingles.
So a diet of Zapain and morphine for the foreseeable future.
Could be worse I suppose.

Certainly could be, however, shingles is one of the worst pains I have been through. Worse than child birth. You have my sympathies. Good luck.
Wishing you well Theland - hope it improves soon.

Thank you. It's flipping awful.
Mine on my face has been going since last November,no let up.
...and the really bad news is that you have a one-in-five chance of having post-herpetic neuralgia, which can go on and on and on....

At least you are getting the treatment. When I had my first attack no-one believed it was Shingles as I had no rash. That was 25 or so years ago and it still is extremely painful at times.
