How Long Till I Can Have Second Opp

I went to have a cataract opp a month ago expecting that they would give me a date for the second eye to be done, but was told that government guide lines state that now you have to wait till the opptition thinks it fit? I just cant see the point to this as I have had the opp but still can't see properly, still get double vision, and have to cover my right eye so that I can read with my left, how is this saving anything? when my sister had it done fifteen years ago the second eye was done two weeks after the first, even though not as bad as the first. is this common now.

Two of my relatives had them 2 months apart. Different parts of the country, both told that they want the first eye to be fully healed, which can take 6 weeks before going ahead with the other.

I had my first cataract done last July and had to wait until the other one got worse before they will operate on it. I have an appointment with the specialist in August so hopefully sometime soon after that. Why do you have double vision? I have it too, and it’s nothing at all to do with cataracts.

They told me at the Hospital that my double vision could be because my eyes both see things differently, and i'm sure its true as if I cover one eye the double vision clears. Thanks for your answers everyone.

about three months in my case, even though the first op went perfectly. In your case I'm sure they would want to see that your double vision settles down before fixing a date.
