To the men here, would you be embarrassed walking in to a toilet and seeing someone using one, or wouldn't you even think about it? Seems such a primitive idea when toilets are available alongside.

Urinals were here long before I was born. A perfectly normal environment to do one's business. The cubicles are for the paperwork. As a little ditty above the Gents urinals in the old Marylebone Magistrate's Court once dictated. "You don't stand here to chat and scoff.Have your wee and then .... off"

I never use public toilets, but no, I wouldn't be embarrassed in seeing a man using the toilet, but would be if it was a woman using the toilets .
My OH doesn't care.

In the pubs I worked in the mens toilets only had 1 cubicle so I suppose many men are used to it.

It's so ... what's the word ...
If you think about though, weeing in front of strangers, it’s a bit weird ?
No Eleena, you simply wander in, ask 'Is this where the big boys hang out?', do what you have to and leave.

May be that's it ummmm, looking at it from a woman's point of view, we women couldn't baseball the same way a man does.

Bare all!!
I've been to Glastonbury and used the ladies Shepee urinals. I didn't care. They were really clean.
I only know one man who goes into a cubicle rather than use a urinal (it's not me). I don't see any problem with it as it's what I've done as long as I can remember. If you happen to be in France, Holland or Belgium you're likely to have a woman walk past whilst you're using one as they don't always bother to read the label on the entrances.
in my experience men using urinals always stare at the wall in front of them, glancing down at the chap next to you isn't to be advised

It's very weird Anne. Why are they still in use today?
there are individual urinals or there are long troughs, I suppose you might react differently.

This is allegedly how men see the protocol

I believe protocol also dictates they look straight ahead, except in certain cottaging spots where they do anything but.
I haven't known anything different so don't find it weird.

When the pubs used to close in the afternoon I had to clean the toilets....how can men miss a urinal??!!
Nothing wrong with them except those metal troughs some pubs have. Go in them with light trousers on and you end up with 'sppashback' especially if the auto flush comes on. So in that instance I generally use a pan, until the evening wears on and I forget!

I get its just accepted, but it's still weird.

I have to clean these every single day Ummmm. Yes they miss sometimes, they also like to stick their chewing gum in there too.
it's only weird if an origami boat floats past you ....
I think it's just the fact that they don't have to sit down for a wee.

LOL! Got to go out. Thanks, interesting!
