For some weeks Ive been experiencing a shortness of breath (no big deal, Im overweight) and dizzy/giddy spells. Also been experiencing an uncomfortable sensation in my chest. Its not a crushing sensation or a sharp pain, just an unpleasant kind of jab (best way that I can put it) followed by a tingling sensation in the fingers of my left hand.
I was van driving yesterday and felt so nauseaus that I had to pull over for a while. I rang my GP today and have an appointment at another clinic tomorrow.
I feel fine posting this now but when I get the dizziness and breathlessness etc, its a bit concerning.

I have very high blood pressure and can honestly say I have never felt breathless or numbness, headache and dizzy yes but not the other symptoms you mention

Thanks for reply RR.
I'm not a medic and don't wish to worry you but some of these symptoms sound like those of a mild heart attack....sqad will probably not agree with me, though.

//symptoms sound like those of a mild heart attack//
ginge,
I rang the doctors today and they urged me to get to A&E.
I would have done if it was sudden but it wasn't, had this thing for a few weeks,
Also not a medic but I have had all of these symptoms due to anxiety.
I am ashamed to admit to being a smoker, having Asthma since birth, I drink a bit too much as well... having many things on my mind. I have had the sensation of pins and needles recently in my left hand... and started to worry a bit thinking it could be a mild stroke having seen the ad for it... but just think it might be high blood pressure. I'm 47 btw and apart from the above are reasonably fit still.
high BP is a machine diagnosis
you leash yourself to a machine press 'measure BP' and see what the numbers are
so go to your GP and the practice nurse will take it
I agree with gingejbee..... a cardiac cause needs to be excluded, not necessarily a heart attack but certainly reduced blood supply to the heart.
There are other causes, but the above seems to be more likely.
if the symptoms recur, then go straight to A&E.
High BP?........might be.
I can't help with these symptoms, Nails, but I do hope that there is nothing untoward in what is happening. I am sorry that you are feeling unwell. Hopefully, your appointment, tomorrow will get it diagnosed and sorted out.

P.S. Did you get your driver job?

Thank you for all replies. All appreciated.
Ive had something similar in the past and have been told that its something to do with my hearing and been prescribed drugs that have done f*** all. Its got worse recently.
As I said, yesterday, I had to pull my van over as I was getting so *** headed. I avoid (my own) doctors like the plague, but had to ring them today as its beginning to impact on my life.

//P.S. Did you get your driver job? //
Tills, I should know at the end of this month :-)
Nailit - Only just read this. Don't delay mate, get the checks done asap you will feel so much better when they come back clear. Best wishes to you.
It could be vagina.

Don't fanny about, get it checked.
Shortness of breath is not considered with blood pressure. You need to visit a doctor for the professional treatment.
Really Vikram? I didn't know that, I have always associated the two?
Nailit, those were exactly the symptoms I had with a panic attack.
I'm sure you are aware, you need to go to the doctor's asap, get a proper diagnosis and proper treatment, no matter what it is. Please go as soon as you can and get checked, but don't assume the worst just yet xx

Lol Pix, I wasn't
//the symptoms I had with a panic attack//
Ive suffered from panic attacks in the past, this is different and just comes on for no discernible reason. Im not unduly worried, think it may be to do with my blood pressure...was told last year that my BP was a bit on the high side.
Got an appointment at 3:45 so will get the doc to do an M.O.T.
Best wishes.

I suffered most of those symptoms., plus cold extremeties.End result was a quadruple heart by-pass preceded by an angiogram first. I have suffered cardio vascular disease for about 20 years. Still got a pulse. :-)
