How Long Does The Inoculation For Mumps Last

I saw an item on This Morning about a 40 years old woman who had contracted mumps while on holiday, presumably from a child at the resort who hadn't been inoculated. She was up in arms about children who hadn't been inoculated and it made me wonder (the point wasn't mentioned) whether the protection lasted all your life. If this is the case, it made me question whether the woman herself had been inoculated as a child - not her decision I know - and if not, did she have the right to complain.

Thanks Peter, It can be a pain, but You learn to live with it. I have perfect hearing in my right ear, which is great, but put me in a noisy situation and I am useless.
On the upside, I learn't BSL when I lost my hearing and have recently had Makaton lessons, and have worked for the last 30 years as a TA in special needs schools and as a PTA (Passenger Transport Assistant)
Every cloud.... :-)

Intensely worrying.
People would rather not vaccinate their kids because of the autism fear. But that is them saying, "i would rather my kid get Polio than autism". How awful is that especially since autism has absolutely nout to do with vaccinations.

Autism can be traced back to the 2nd trimester of pregnancy
