Hubby cant straighten his right ring finger and its slightly swollen. We were watching our sons play football this morning. Think he was thinking of his childhood days when he used to be a goalkeeper and attempted to catch the ball !!

certainly trauma if he caught it awkwardly.
Yes, if not caught properly.
Is he Scottish?
If this was the first time your hubby was inconvenienced, then yes mis-catching a football may be the cause BUT if he has been haing problems for some time, then one must think of "Trigger Finger."

Whichever......Ibuprofen 400mgs three times a day.
... but hand the ibuprofen to him, don't just toss the bottle.
ibu for trigger finger sqad? that a new one on me
oh and Jno for best answer
My son fractured his wrist saving a goal, so, yes... as sqad says, if there was nothing previously, that could well be the cause.
woofy

"ibu for trigger finger sqad? that a new one on me"

LOL...not much I can say about that.
but does it help reduce the triggering Sqad? I ask because its a problem that affects me.
woofy....you are confusing me.......I sadi use ibuprofen and you replied " that's a new one on my"....from that I assumed you had never heard of Nsaids for trigger finger.
that's right Sqad, I hadn't.....does it actually stop (or help to stop) the triggering or is it for pain management only?
My nephew has recently broke his hand goal keeping.
I don't think so...
