Passport Query Post Brexit

Thought I was savvy re passport validity post brexit. Just checked OH passport on the gov passport checker. Travel date 12 May 2019 Passport Issued 10 Nov 2009, expiry 10 May 2020 result came back there’s less than 6 months left from date of travel renew passport. Is this right. 12/05/2019 - 10/05/2020 is 12 months. Unless I’m missing something here.

I read somewhere about the extra months that are carried over from an old passport to a new passport no longer being valid - so if that’s the case, then the 10 years since the issue of the new passport would run out 10 November 2009 having less than 6 months left in it for the May 2019 holiday.

I see what your saying passport runs out in the previous Nov, not the 10 May 2020 as stated on the passport.

The theft of carried forward months are retrospective and not just for trying to carry forward now ? Surely not. How low could a government department get ?
