No I have not been talking too much, or eating all day! But my jaw aches.

Its intermittent, but was bad in the night. Its a dull deep ache as the back of the teeth, which almost feels like tooth ache. I dont think it can be tooth ache as its both sides, and is not a piercing pain.

Any ideas?

might be that you tooth grind or jaw clench in your sleep? Might be sinusitis?
From your description, it could be a number of things, none of which are life threatening.
Take Ibuprofen 400mgms when needed and report back in a week after monitoring the situation.
can I suggest that you add in a decongestant to squad's suggestion? if the pain improves and crud starts appearing down your nose/throat then sinusitis would seem to be your answer

Thanks both, I have taken said ibuprofen and will try to relax this weekend. You might be right about me clenching my jaw, i think i do that sometimes and not always aware.
Could be due to stress. Hope it gets better for you soon.

Its really aching again this evening, as the painkillers have worn off. I have been stressed this week, but not at all today and I had hoped it would have begun to feel better.

Just taken another 400mgms ibuprofen and of course, need to give it more time!
has anyone thought of dental abscess ?
