Is 60 mmol/l ok for a male diabetic on metformin? If not, what next?

Are you sure that you don't mean mgms /litre...if so then that figure is fine.
However if you do mean mmols/litre......then that is high, although you don't say whether it is fasting or pre prandial. (before a meal)

Well there is you answer 888 supplied by our yrney, no need to bother with AB on questions of diabetes, just go to that link.
Ab is rapidly deteriorating as an AB in my opinion.
I have had further thoughts and it has just occurred to me that your reading of 60mmol/litre is the HBA1C level in which case it is a bit high.
Your next step would be to cut down omn your carbohydrates or if, as I suspect that nay be difficult for you then to your Metformin one would need to add Gliclozide to your regime.
