I can't help but there are some tips here

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/cold-sores/
Blistex is good
You can't cure it, as such. Once you have the virus you are likely to have flare up at any time so always keep a tube of aciclover cream handy.
At first tingle hold an ice cube on the spot until frozen, then use Zovirax, available on prescription or over the counter. Found this to be the most effective cold sore cream and believe me I have tried them all.
Zovirax is the best thing for me too. Like Maggie I've been a sufferer for many years
Whoa !! I know the problem. Any cold sore cream that has Acyclovir in it's make up will do the trick. Apply at least 5 times a day from when you get the first "tingle". Zovirax is expensive but Tesco now do their own which is a lot cheaper. Good luck
FBG40
Zovirax is just a brand name for acyclovir and unbranded is exactly the same but much cheaper.
The ice cube trick works for me.
At first tingle and continued application vigorously rub some aftershave or perfume into the area. In addition to Zovirax. Won’t get rid of it but reduces the infection time.
acyclovir
but you have to be quick
otherwise you are still on the 10d track

and no there is no cure as it is a DNA latent virus
( bit of a complex comment - latency means you are stuck with it)
Dabbing it with my own wee works for me everytime,I kid you not.
Tea-tree oil works for me.
no please
if you are going to try any of these
go for acyclovir

did Gandhi drink his own urine? - o gawd it is so gross I can hardly think of it wivvart retching - - - spluuuuurge!
I wouldn't have thought you were squeamish.
a cross dressing actor called Divine was the first to eat dog dirt on video
she plays the mother - Mama Wartbug - in the film Hairspray

but o my gawd - as ABers often say - I cant imagine doing it myself .....
Nor could I but thankfully no one has suggest ingesting anything unpleasant to help cold sores.
