I've suffered from it but unfortunately there's no cure. Hopefully it will go away itself.
I've had it. Nothing helped. It went away eventually.

.Lordalex got tinnitus at the same time as he lost some of his hearing in one ear. What has helped him is wearing his hearing aid. it somehow seems to block it. So, if you have a hearing aid, wear it and if you don't ,but suspect that your hearing is impaired, see about getting one.
Might be a good idea to get your hearing checked anyway .
As far as I can make out, the most important psychological hurdle to get over with tinnitus, so that you can try to ignore it, is to realise that it does not have any sinister 'meaning'. Others will put me right I am sure, but I think it is usually a mechanical problem with how we hear and is more likely to occur when we get older.
Meniere's has left me almost deaf in my right ear with constant tinnitus- several different noises including pulsitile tinnitus ie a whooshing noise every second, in time with my 60bpm pulse.
It's something I've learned to live with....although I do find a bedside noise generator very helpful in the dead quiet of night. In fact, I can't sleep without it!
Mine's similar to this - worth a try at this price, too.

I have suffered for years, just the one ear. Learning to ignore it and avoiding dead quiet as much as possible has worked best for me.
I had it at times in the past playing instrumental music softly through ear phones helped me ignore it, Dave had it so he never liked the quiet, still he didn't get much quiet with me around.
Tinnitus is more prevalent with hearing loss.

I have it and as I type I can hear it loud and clear even though I am about a Foot from the radio.

I don’t know what is usual but it gets louder the louder the ambient noise is. It sort of competes and more than often wins lol

Tinnitus, for me at least, is an internally generated noise and even my hearing aids don’t drown or dampen it out. Night time is a nightmare and because there is no outside noise it is like a foghorn.

Not even white noise seems to abate it so I just have to suck it up and get on with it. It will probably send me gags in the end.
Had it in both ears for years. Never have silence. I’m hoping when I’m deceased it will be dead quite.
I had an intelligent ENT man years ago who (when I went to him with tinnitus) got me an MRI on a hunch (in those days it was possible) and deduced that I had severely bunged-up Eustacian tubes (not his description).

He prescribed an 'industrial strength' (his description) nose spray, Flixonase - on prescription or an Internet purchase - to help keep my sinuses clearer. I use it daily, and when my nose/sinuses are relatively clear, my tinnitus runs at about 2/10 (used to be 8/10).

Not saying it would do the same for you, it might not, but knowing just how low you can get with T, it might be worth a try.

Good luck.

My hubby woke up deaf in his left ear apparently caused by labrynthitis. Hearing never returned but he has a constant noise that sounds like wasps in his ear. We have a fan on his side of the bed. The gentle buzzing from fan sort of zones out the buzzing in his ear. I can no longer sleep in a silent bedroom.....the fan comes all over with us x
I too - when I take it have the buzzing of a bee going in and out of my ear. when it is bad it would put you nuts.

when I go to the audiologist from time to time - there is a notice on the wall - saying if you have got tinnitus contact them. so maybe worth contacting audiology for some help
Only heard in complete silence. I switch on radio, tv etc & tinnitus vanishes
I don’t think you read the responses Tamborine.
Mine gets worse when I eat something I'm intolerant to. Get a blood test from Yorktest.com and look at your diet. It definitely helped me.
