How long after starting the above drug ,would you expect to see an effect on high blood pressure ?

You should see a lowering within a month, I presume you are on other medications already?

Several days and probably up to a week.
An old iuretic...one of the first and is making a comeback in combination with other diuretics in congestive cardiac failure which is difficult to control, mentioned by Mamya.
