I know many advise figure of 220 minus ones age, in my case being 63 that would be 157.As I like to cycle as a means of keeping fit heart rate often reaches 170/180 when climbing hills. Could this be dangerous? I do stop when I see this figure but annoyed as I feel okay in legs and lungs.

From what you have said, a maximum heart rate of certainly not in excess of 180 b/min in a fit guy after a hill climb.
I shouldn't push it above that figure.
