Have had pain on top sides of ankle mainly inner side and sometimes pain top of foot to toes. Obviously when walking about it hurts and feels like I'm going to go over on my ankle. It swells slightly as the day goes on. Rang doctor, can't get an appointment for 3 weeks!.
There's been no obvious damage. Been like it for week -10 days. Any suggestions?

Could be gout.........7-10 days in duration would make osteo-arthritis or rheumatoid arthritis unlikely.

Take your pick at this stage.

Ibuprofen 400 mgms every 4 hours if need be.
Possible Plantar Faciititis. Look it up.

Thanks Sqad. Sensitive stomach due to acid reflux. So try not to take too many pain killers if I can help it. I do take one 30mg of Lansoprozole but irritation still comes thru. So I sometimes double up dose if I'm taking Ibuprofen.

I don't think it P F Scooping. I haven't got pain in my heel. Although I did experience this a few years ago. Thanks.
When I need to see a doctor at my local practice but can't an appointment with my doc. I just ask to see the practice nurse and can usually see her in a few hours.
Unlikely to be plantar fasciitis as the pain of this condition is under the heel and under the foot.
Your pain is on the side of the ankle and top of the foot.
Swelling of the ankle is unusual in plantar fasciitis.
The Plantar muscle is between your heel and toes. No heel/ankle pain.
scooping you are getting mixed up......there is no such thing as the plantar muscle, there are many muscles in the sole of the foot.....BUT.....plantar fasciitis has little or nothing to do with the plantar muscles as it is a disorder of the covering, fascia.... hence fasciitis.

I'll try and see practice nurse if I can't get a cancelled appointment. Thanks scooping.
Do you have a "walk in" doctors centre anywhere near? We have one either side of town. I have found them invaluable, and do not mind waiting as I have also been able to receive good advice and a prescription. The longest I have had to wait is just over an hour but that beats three weeks! Just take a book with you.
