I and a friend are recent victims of ABH, it started with an argument where both parties were shouting, pushing and shoving. Me and friend tried to walk away but the attacker followed us, grabbed me a few times, punched us in the face multiple times, took my glasses, smashed them. later on pulled our hair and then cracked my front teeth with a punch (with phone in hand) all without us retaliating. she was arrested for ABH and we gave statements. We’ve never had a run in with any form of trouble/law so we’re still worried we could have done more to prevent it getting to the stage of us being harmed, the police know everything from the best of our knowledge but we still can’t help being worried because we did also push and shove at the very start. What is likely to happen? So far just waiting on cctv to support our story but the defendant has admitted to hitting my teeth out. Thanks to anyone who can help.

I am not sure what the question is wait and see is the best thing at this point you cant really do anything to change things if the cctv shows you walking away then the obvious conclusions can be drawn - you were trying to get away sensible course of action by the way - well done so many people write - "and I stayed and smacked the smacker good in the mush" - years and...

I am not sure what the question is
wait and see is the best thing
at this point you cant really do anything to change things

if the cctv shows you walking away then the obvious conclusions can be drawn - you were trying to get away

sensible course of action by the way - well done
so many people write - "and I stayed and smacked the smacker good in the mush" - years and years ago we were taught in our judo class - first walk away ....
-- answer removed --
as a result of my judo classes - 1988-90 I was able to take a knife off a man in canal st
yeah rougher then
I cdnt believe how fast it all was - it came from nowhere. actually passed to him from an accomplice

NOT recommended - I wrote to my teacher and thanked him.

[ not like the shower scene in Psycho but more
liver stab - but cdnt get thro the coarse tweed jacket - I thought he had taken the victims kidney out] - just awful.
Edge Lane and the moor around St Willibald's
I heard a man say "if you do that you will spend at least two years in prison|" to two or three young lads.

he sortta caught me up and accosted me and I said
"Here are my car keys and my wallet - all I will do is walk 200m to my house and tell the police I have been robbed"

and he said - no I was telling the kids not to roll you over...

thereafter when we met we greeted each other as old comrades.

I think the original poster MilesR did more than enough to show he didnt want trouble. - very difficult not think - "why was I picked on ?" -
