Having watched Rhod Gilbert's BBC doc (linked below), it got me thinking. Sometimes I'm really shy, other times I'm super confident!

How many ABers would say they're shy? Or are you only shy in certain situations like me?

I am absolutely as confident as it's possible to be.

I can talk to strangers, rooms full of eight hundred people, anyone, anywhere in any circumstance.

I am so very lucky to be that way, and I do appreciate it very much, I have seen the crippling effects of shyness and lack of confidence.
I like to be as confident as I are, but sometimes a little shy and roll ones eyes on others but not intentionally arrogant.

A bit of both.
I'm so shy I used to be known as coconut.
Tell your friends - he's here all week!!
I can be shy, depending on the situation.
We know who you are Douglas, thats why we're scared... you've even put Andy on his back foot. ;-)
Fairly shy but over time learnt to force that feeling deep down when necessary.
And now you're just a nut, eh douglas? ;o)
Yes...I'm shy. Due to my upbringing I've learnt how to hide it. My OH and sister are the only ones who can read my face. Luckily my kids haven't inherited it, quite the opposite.

Very confident whatever is going on, speaking in Public, dealing with Business, Personal Matters, no problems.
No, not shy at all.
I'm shy in certain situations.
Utterly, I cannot stand any situation in which I am near the centre of the attention, no 70th birthday party or golden wedding, I would walk out if 'surprised'. Not necessarily shyness, simply hate it.
Don't ever go to Anfield wearing a Man United shirt, I zipped it oop sharpish alomst as bad at Ellend rd. working behind the scenes.
Although I'm shy I don't lack confidence.

Like you Zebo, the thought of being centre of attention fills me with dread.
I am not shy, can handle public speaking and busy events but much prefer not to.
I was moderately shy until I worked behind the bar at my local pub. If you've ever watched the comedy"Early Doors", it will give you some idea what the pub was like.
Like ummmm, I don't lack confidence, and like others here I have no problem speaking in public, etc., but I hate talking about 'me' or being the centre of attention on a personal level.
Ummm, you may have mentioned before where you are, but are you a geordie girl? You do come across as fun and lovely... just me being nosey.
