I have a dull aching pain in my lower right abdomen which comes and goes. (for the past few days)Today I passed a lot of dark red blood on the toilet. Not too concerned, as ive passed blood before and it turned out to be piles (which were cauterized) and also posted about a similar pain in lower right abdomen about a year ago which turned out to be nothing. But the two thing happening again together is a bit worrying. If it keeps happening will get in to see my GP but don't want to waste their time or mine at the mo. Any ideas/advice?
No other symptoms, not nauseaus, sweating or anything. Have had unusual bowl movements tho, yesterday I was constipated, today I havnt been off the toilet (been 6 times up until now)
Thanks.

You may be exhibiting signs of inflammatory bowel disease but you really need to make an appointment with your GP.
Don’t think you will be wasting GP’s time, nailit,GET THERE TOMORROW!! Good luck.

Cheers NoM, probably will end up going to GP anyway eventually (I do try to steer clear of medics as much as possible)

Denton, as above m8^^ thanks.
Those of us who're old enough to get asked to send a sample of our poo for analysis every two years, to look for signs of bowel cancer, will have read the leaflet that comes with it. That leaflet says that if you EVER pass blood in your stools (even if only once) you should ALWAYS consult your GP.

(NB: I'm most definitely NOT suggesting that you've got bowel cancer. I'm simply stating that seeing your GP undr these circumstance is in line with official NHS advice, so you can't be accused of wasting his/her time)

Chris, some years ago I had to have a colonoscopy, I had polyps which had to be removed, second time of bleeding I had piles which had to be cauterized. So am not to worried this time, just that I'm a tadge worried that they are happening together this time (pain and bleeding) If a trip to the GP's then so be it, just don't want to go unnecessarily. (a bit worried tho that the blood was dark)
yes of course you should go and see your GP
Yes, go and see your GP.
My mum had polyps, her poo test was 'unsatisfactory' and she had to repeat it.
She is now dead from metastised cancer.

Like Buenchico, I'm not suggesting you are likely to have cancer, but get it checked, will you? That's what all the leaflets and posters are for.

//yes of course you should go and see your GP//
WHY PP?
NHS is clogged up enough as it is???
A bit of blood from the behind is NOT an ermergancy! It could be something as innocous as piles...
not breathing/heart not beating would be considered serious in my book

Nailit, I don't often get involved in your threads, but this time get in there and see your GP, that's what they're there for, you will not be wasting anyone's time.

Thanks for replies. Probably will end up with a doctors finger up my behind (again) Already knew the answer b4 posting it! Just hoped that there might be something different....
Nailit......I cannot see anything sinister in rectal bleeding and pain in the right lower part of the abdomen ( left lower part, then maybe.)
However, like all advice from posters above, see your GP.

Been trying to ring GP since 8 oclock this morning, cant get through. Trying to get an appointment with my doctor is like trying to nail jelly to the wall. Thanks again for all replies, appreciate it.
