I have an average priced smart watch which every so often buzzes three times and shows a heart with an arrow pointing upwards. I got the instructions out and they said that this was the watch detecting arhythmia. My mum suffers from this and will have to take warfarin for the rest of her life.
don't want to go to my GP and tell her that my watch is showing this problem so I wonder if anyone has more information about the truth in this.

No, sorry , my information is sketchy.
However many studies have shown "interesting" results with patients who are symptom free, but have warning signs of arrhythmias indicated by the smart watch.
You have a family history of cardiac abnormalities and many people have this....for a better description...."silent atrial fibrillation."
I would certainly have a word with your GP concerning your thoughts and he may well suggest a 24 hour ECG monitor.......
Worth mentioning.
