Rehab doesn't come on prescription!
and can be very difficult to get !
I think the underlying issues need to be addressed first. The alcohol is the crutch. Have you got anyone to talk to, nailit?
Alcohol treatment centres will try to explore the underlying reasons - that's how people address and sort out their drink problems. There are charitable organisations around who can treat addiction problems - it doesn't have to be AA with the God stuff.

just asking a straight forward question.
It's an unfair question to ask any of us , you know that.
which nobody is going to answer nailit ..for a number of reasons...hopfully you will feel a bit brighter soon.. can you get a friend round to keep you company ? being alone when you are low is not good..x
Nailit...we don't know and even if we did I doubt anyone would give you the answer.

Nailit, I think you should tell us about how you came to be involved with the police and how the altercation ensued. Then someone here might be able to offer some good advice, and suggest a way forward. Please don't do anything hasty.
Minty, it isn't difficult to get. If he's at risk of doing something lethal to himself, it can be arranged.

I'm sorry, ur right.
nom..nailit has tried and tried and tried to get proper help.. it is not forthcoming....
Nailit, what about your nephew in the wheelchair? his happy outlook on life, never playing the victim, what would he think of you? you said recently you don't play the victim, well don't do it now. Sober up, either sleep or take a shower and think with a clear head. Get a piece of paper and pen/pencil, whatever and think of all the reasons not to take pills, you've been down this road before and got over it. Prove to all that love you how strong you are really. I don't know what happened with the police but you're at home and things can't be that bad, you've not killed anyone, loads of folk get into trouble during the weekend, wait and see what's going to happen. Talk to your wife, don't do something silly to yourself - not often if ever I reach out to you but I am today, lucky you eh!! Be kind to yourself whatever happened can be remedied, it just looks way bad now.
..he even indicated whilst in custody how low and suicidal he felt.. still nowt ! shameful situation really....
Getting help is so difficult. The waiting list is huge.
short of outing yourself on the Jeremy Kyle show and getting the best private care... NHS treatment is scarce on the ground and as ummmm says so many seem to be waiting....
There are many occasion where ample help is offered but the patient won't engage...
The trouble is, you never get any proper help from being in police custody. If you have been arrested for an offence, their only interest is to interview you, charge you and bail you. It's not their "job" to assist with mental health issues and all it really amounts to is a box ticking exercise so that they can be sure that nothing happens whilst they are in custody.
You can get help pretty quickly if you're under 16 or a pensioner. Anyone in between gets lost in space.

It's sad.

Nailit knows what he needs to do. He needs to lay off the drink so he can think with a clear head. I know it's easier said than done but it's a situation of needs must.
neither is the issue purely addiction.. there is a wider issue, he has begged for help with his mental health.. nobody seems to listen and take proper positive action forward
