Hi, was wondering if anyone can advise.
Do amoxicillin and flucloxicillin have the same side affects?
My mums taking amoxicillin for a chest infection, and it's giving her painful wind and as she as a stoma, you can imagine it's not nice.
She remembers taking flucloxicillin a couple of years ago and it doing the same, that's why the doctors gave her amoxicillin.
She doesn't want to bother the doctor again.
Any advice please?x

Yes, both same group of penicillins and both MAY have the same side effects, but minimised if taken with a meal.
Medicines usually have a leaflet in with them saying what side-effects there may be - worth a look at that.
