Platelets
5 Answers
Hi. I have just had the results back from a recent health check. The only thing of concern is my platelet count. This was 128 where the normal range is 150-400. My white cells are 4.1 just inside the range of 4-11. Should I be concerned?

I think I was put on folic acid for a while. Eventually it settled down. I wondered if it was Beecham's powders which I used to take a lot back then for any pain! I say this as I read years later that aspirin can interfere with platelets. Hope all turns out well for you.
Thank you for the answers. As it was a health check it came back with the results and a written report and recommends that I go to my local GP in a few weeks for more blood tests to see if it has improved. She said the low level could have been down to a recent illness or infection, although I don't think I was ill around the time of the health check.
