Well after sussing out a few dentists lately I settled for this girl and last week she took impressions for a new valplasty denture. (Cant get used to the metal one).

Anyway last night had some vertigo but really bad today but had to get another impression done but the cement stuck and she couldn't get it out for minutes seemed like minutes. I gagged and gagged - she tried to pull it from the front then from the side then she was rocking it in my mouth and then from the back. It had "caught" around a former crown. A bad experience - sorry for my moan. I truly thought I was choking to death.

She doesn't know if the impression will be okay so have to wait and see if I get a call to go again. Jesus why were dentists made - their true name is butchers. Night all.

I hate my mouth being filled with gunk while they take impressions. I just have to try to breathe very deeply and regularly. I totally sympathise with you, it must be horrific when it gets stuck like that.

Jno - was that a norm - I just got frightened a bit. I have had them before but they never got stuck like that.
no, never got stuck like that. I would have thought they had ways of stopping it happening, but obviously not. Poor you. That's worth a good stiff drink when you get home.

I have been off the drink for 5 months now apart from 2 lapses unfortunately. None tonight tho.
ah well, nice pot of tea then
Question Author
no no tea either - haven't had anything to eat or drink since last night - this is the way you go with vertigo. but neighbour came over to leave xmas stuff for kiddies - I keep it until Xmas and her mum sent me over a lovely plate of home made chicken curry and rice which will do me lovely for tomorrow. They must think I starve over here - ah right with the size of me LOL.
sweet dreams!
Sounds to me as if the crowned tooth needs some work. Must've worn away below leaving a barb-like situation which caught the mould. I'd doubt how good the mould is if it had to be distorted to extract it.

Old Geezer - I think you are correct - will probably have to be called in for another impression - I hope they won't work around a "broken" impression albeit small. The technician should refuse to do it. And why I don't want to go there do know what you mean the crown (it is now old) but I don't want this wee girl to touch it. Just get this vanplasty denture and then run.

Receptionists - had typed my wrong address

Listed wrong amount of money to be paid

And spelt Valplasty - Valoplast - now if you work in a medical sphere - you should get the medical words correct. They half to do the jobs now.
//Jesus why were dentists made - their true name is butchers//

You certainly don't mince your words!
J9. I think JJ has had some awful experiences recently re dental treatments, I don't think she was serious her statement. ;:-
" Jesus why were dentists made - their true name is butchers."

Or "Restores of beauty" and "Taker awayers of grave deep pain" as I like to call them.

Regarding dentists and why they're needed have you watched Jeremy Kyle recently Many of the views have disgusting looking teeth and you wonder how on earth they get caught up in these love triangles or dating a lot of men/women and then you see the men/women in question who have equally if not worse teeth/decaying stumps.

Now I see what the Americans online mean when they say the British have terrible teeth which is a shame as many get free dental treatments.

Ach after all that long break and questions we see you now J9Pur.
I'm still here, but not always posting. Sorry to hear that you are still experiencing problems - I know at this has been a long road for you. Hopefully this Valplast denture will be more acceptable to you.
Question Author
A long road of nearly 40 years of pretty painful appointments - yeah that's right. Don't even know if the valplasty will be a success if the impression is "distorted" as Old Geezer said
