Fluoxetine Withdrawal

My partner is coming off 60mg Fluoxetine in order to change to a different antidepressant. He is on week 5/6 of coming off and he should start the new onemail next Monday, the question I have is...he can'take stop falling asleep and he says it's feels like his head is in continual vice....is this normal?

Hi Purple, firstly I want to say I feel terrible for your husbands symptoms but yes the problem with any antidepressants is that they do give you symptoms of having your head in a vice, also extreme tiredness and a lack of any motivation, it also makes you very emotional.

I can recommend one thing that I do every evening and it makes me sleep like a baby and I wake up without the head feelings. i will post you the link
He will need headphones and will need to be in bed with his eyes closed but so long as he concentrates on his breathing he will feel great tomorrow. it will take a few days but soon he will not need any pills because he will have a calm and clear mind. Trust me when I say, when I was first told about this, I just dismissed it as hippy nonsense but I got so bad i gave it a go and I feel great every day and I am now drug free.
