I have found Co-dydramol most effective since prescribed a few years ago.  These are classed as mild to moderate pain relief, Dihyrocodeine/Paracetomol and may not be strong enough for everyone but I had no wish go back to living in a daze which previous medication gave.

I horner I haven't found a good pain killer myself but on Monday I started to go for a type of physio therapy called myofascial release.  I would suggest you dont put up with the pain any longer - research a few different ways and go for it.  My sciatica is due to a lot of different things - it isnt always as a result of a bulging disc.  The pain and numbness in my leg is definitely being helped with this new treatment.

With regard to 'myofascial release' - Peri - I would be grateful  if you could supply more details.

Many thanks.

Hi horner here is a web site telling you what it ishttp://www.wholehealthmd.com/refshelf/substances_view/1, 1525,10156,00.html it is a type of physio therapy which works on the fascia around the bones.  It wouldn't do any harm to see if you can find a practitioner in your area and have a check up to see if it would suit you.

http://www.goarticles.com/cgi-bin/showa.cgi?C=60725 theres another site that seems a bit better.  Good luck and let me know how you get on.  I am heading for my 3rd appointment at this stage.

Thank you very much - Peri.
My husband had sciatica for three months, he paid a fortune for  physio etc and nothing helped, the sciatica just went in its own time, although your doctor would give you strong painkillers - can't remember what my husband took at the time though.  Perhaps myofascial release would be a good thing, I am sure with the pain you are willing to try anything. Good luck.
