I have had diarrhoea for 36 hours now. Should I take pills or let it run its course?

Give it another 36 hours with plenty of fluid replacement and WITHOUT pills, after which time if it still persists, then seek medical help.

The body's getting rid of it for a reason. IMO judge your condition for yourself. Leave pills alone if you're coping. Take if excessive to make managable.
