I would think so,
Yes, but it needs to be in a see-through clear plastic bag.

I cant remember if they took mine off me in Manch. All I can remember people shouting at me, and being deaf all I heard was a loud noise with lots of men with their mouths open ....

You recollect the spate of people stripping off in Manchester Airport in the scanner room ? I reckon its wasnt 'us' but the searcher - he was just awful
fusion, is your medication a liquid ?
Hand luggage

It is usually best to carry all your medicines with you in your hand luggage, in case your checked luggage goes missing or your medicines are damaged in the baggage hold.

However, during current tightening of security and hand baggage restrictions, the Department for Transport has advised that you can only take up to 100ml of liquid creams or gels, and up to 50g of powder or tablets. Most asthma inhalers do not specify how much liquid medicine is contained within them (they are often measured in puffs or doses), but as a guide most inhalers contain approximately 10-20ml of liquid.
No problem taking that on board Fusion.

I am ex cabin crew.

No airline is going to stop an asthmatic having their treatment with them.
Take it from me Anne I have a gas powered salbutamol inhaler which gives a satisfying 'zit' sound. [ some of them you dont know if they have done anything or not ]
My Ventolin is not powder (Blue reliever) However the preventer Seretide (Purple) is. so both correct... I've being through the Airport with them in my hand luggage no problem as they are inspected.
If unsure, I would take the inhaler, powder or not, and show it in a clear plastic bag with any other liquids as you go through passport control. You WILL be allowed to take it on the aircraft.
Probably worth putting it in the clear bag and showing it to security, as it is an aerosol.
Ventolin? Yes, you can. It`s not a liquid.

Sorry Arksided, but your blue ventolin is a powder.
