I had this treatment back in March (to divert tear ducts) and had the tubes and stent removed today. Its worked a treat and all done now until my 6 month check up.

If you're looking in Shedman, let me know how its going for you.

Loads better thank you Lady J, hopefully I can enjoy a walk by the coast now without appearing to sob the whole way!
Hi Maydup, Glad to hear that it seems to have worked for you. Had it done on Friday. 2 hours in surgery, 1 in recovery and then 5 on ward until bleeding got manageable. They and OH wanted me to stay in overnight as they had job stopping blood but I didn't want to so went home. Think it's to do with the aspirin I take even though I stopped it over a week before. Looks a bit of a mess at the moment but it will get better soon I expect. Had a bad reaction to the drops they gave me so spent a lot of yesterday in A&E, but been given new drops now so hopefully they will work this time. Will let you know how it works out and thanks for asking.

Awwww lovely to hear from you Shedman. Once you are able to remove the dressing use a cool ice pack to reduce swelling. I used mine every few hours and found it very soothing. Take it easy.
Hi, hope you are still well after the op. Had the tube removed last week and so far so good. It's good not to have to keep wiping my eye and face with a tissue all the time. Still have to with the other eye but not the one they have done. Lets hope it stays like this and then I can get the other one done in a few months. The only thing I am finding strange is that when I blow my nose air comes out of the new duct and feels like it does when the optician shoots air into your eye from that machine they have. Anyway just thought I would let you know that it is working fine and hope yours is too.

good news shedman, I'm pleased all's well. I remember experiencing odd air in the nose sensation and an enhanced sense of smell for a while but it has all settled down now. poor old Kleenex will miss us both propping up their sales!
