Sqad, I am visiting my 83yr old aunt in Switzerland. I am concerned about her as she sleeps most of the day. Her thyroid is regularly monitored and seems to be well controlled with medication. She is fully mobile and seems in reasonable health.
My concern is the rivotril that she is prescribed, she takes one and a half tablets 0.5mg nocte. She is not epileptic and never has alcohol. I am going to get her to ask her GP for a review of her meds but frankly I think her GP is a bit of an airhead and I am not here much longer to see to any folllow through, plus my french is abysmal. Could the dosage be too high?

Her thyroxine is monitored........so now problem there.
Rivotril.........she is taking a small dose....so no problem with that, my only concern is why an elderly person is taking this at all and may be tie cause of her drowsiness.

Seeing her GP is a good idea.

Thank you Sqad, I wasn't sure whether it was a high dose or not. I will get her to make an appointment asap and see if I can find a way for the result to be monitored
