A friend's mother died recently. I went to the funeral service, but didn't get to speak to him. I'm thinking of sending an ecard, telling him I'm thinking of him, etc. Do you think this would be apt?

Maybe just send an email or a real card instead? Ecards sometimes just don't feel personal enough?

I'd agree with smallwren a real card would be much nicer, although an email is better than nothing.  It's a lovely thought shazzabell as many people  don't think to contact the bereaved person after the funeral.

Thanks, smallwren and Robinia. Just going to email him. Now I just need to figure out the words to say!

My husband died last November and previous to that I had always hated sympathy cards etc. However I have changed my mind on this. If it is a close friend just drop round or phone, otherwise if you don't know what to write in a letter, a very simple card is nice to receive, but avoid the ones with the terrible verses or mushy words.
