For those that were interested I had my little girl yesterday, weighing in at 9lbs exactly. It was a very difficult week as I spent Monday to Thursday night in early labour without dilating more than 2cms. I went in to the hospital for a third time on Thursday night asking them to let me in for the night so I could get some pethidine and finally some sleep (had barely had a few hours rest since Monday night). Thankfully they agreed but I'd only been asleep for an hour before my waters broke and the pains got worse. I was loving the entonox tho! After a few hours of that and still getting nowhere I was put on a drip with an epidural. But even with high strength Syntocin for 4 hours I had only dilated another centimetre. At 11.00am I was offered C-section as I was totally knackered and clearly we still had a long way to go. So I went for that, and she was born 1.5 hours later. She is absolutely perfect and we are very proud!

Thanks for all your congrats. I so wanted a natural water birth, funny how all those plans go out of the window on the day!

We are calling her Beatrice.

The hospital is very likely to let me out tonight- quite surprised about that as they do bang on about it being a major op, although grateful.
as long as you're feeling comfortable enough to go home - slicing people open and extracting large "growths" is quite a big op.
