My cracked ribs (more than one apparently) are much better after seven weeks. The only cure is patience and in the meantime the pain is very bad. I sympathise deeply with you, or maybe that should be empathise. The doctor gave me Zapain which is a mixture of 500 mgs paracetamol and 30 mgs codeine. Thank goodness they worked - well not completely but they helped....

why not ask the dr for anti-emetic (sickness) meds to take with the painkillers? other than that, sit still, don't breathe and don't laugh.

i got a script of buccastem which is no help, my main problem is breathing(the rib) and not being active.
Why can't you take Nsaids?

Tramadol may be an alternative...it is only a WEAK opium based pain killer.

sorry the buccastem is inactive lcg

starone 7-8 weeks to heal?

im not ignoring your expertise sqad.
Could something like pain patches work? I'm not sure what's in them or if it would make a difference but you could ask?
I swear by cocodamol, which is paracetamol and codeine. Makes ome people constipated though.
Always eat a reasonably substantial snack or meal around half an hour before taking an opiate based painkiller.
I take Tramadol and cannot (even after several years on them) take them on an empty stomach without feeling nauseous.
Take cyclizine instead for nausea......if one thing doesn't work try another. That goes for anti-sickness meds as well as painkillers!!!! X
What about a topical NSAID as well as tramdol ( I rate tramadol, I think it's an awesome drug, however it can cause delayed ejaculation if that's of concern to you and if you're inclined to it, it can send you a bit doolally), diclofenac gel always seems to hide a multitude of ouchies. Our doctors prescribe it often to people with ulcers, asthma etc

good luck getting patches :S
